North Curry W.I.

Our guest will be Sue Gooch an expert glass artist from Ilminster. As well as explaining its history, Sue will be bringing along samples of her beautiful fused and stained glass in the form of many decorative items and hopefully, with Christmas and gifts in mind, there will be items for sale.

North Curry Produce Market

Date: Saturday, 4th November 2017

Time: 9:30am till 11:30

All the usual stalls selling vegetables, bread, homemade cakes, pies, jams, local honey and pickles and books will be there plus Helen selling Christmas cards in aid of Save the Children. Meet up with friends and enjoy bacon butties, tea and coffee from the kitchen.

In 1818, high-spirited young Fanny Brawne (Abbie Cornish) finds herself increasingly intrigued by the handsome but aloof poet John Keats (Ben Whishaw).

There is an interval for tea and cake (donation asked for) and entry is £5.

Hinkley Point C: Challenges and Opportunities

How much do you know about what is really going on at Hinkley Point? Do you want to know more? On Wednesday 15th November you have your chance with a presentation from Ross Edwards of EDF. Ross has been part of the project from its early inception and has a huge breadth of knowledge to tell us about progress on site and its significance to the UK. He will answer any questions you might have about a new generation of nuclear power capacity in Somerset, so whether you are for it or against it or just donít know, this is an evening not to be missed.

Annual membership of £5 includes admission to talks, discussions and refreshments.  Visitors, who pay a small charge, new or established members, are all welcome.

Sully

Tom Hanks stars in this thriller which portrays the heroic airline pilot Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger who successfully emergency landed an Airbus A320 full of passengers on the Hudson River.

Free to members; it costs £5 as a guest. Anyone can be a guest – just come along!
